  • What differentiates IT for a Cause?

The mission of IT for a Cause is to develop and support solutions that aim to help out good causes.  We know that we cannot save every issue in the world, but we feel that technology, when used to promote worthy causes, can help make the world a better place.

One goal of IT for Cause is to be a one stop shop for web-based solutions for our clients.  We offer a wide range of services and we can help your company with everything from analysis, design, development, testing, change management, hosting, and support.  We can even help you navigate the internet waters if there are any confusing aspects of the process.
  • What about cost?

At IT for a Cause we realize that most budgets are under increased scrutiny with today's economy regardless if the organization is a non-profit, for-profit, or a government entity.  Therefore, we make every effort to make sure that our solutions are as cost-effective as they can be.
    To keep costs low:
    • We strive to maintain low overhead costs to ensure that we provide as much value as possible
    • We have complete freedom to deliver the most effective solution therefore when architecting a solution we always consider multiple approaches to find the most effective choice.
    • We leverage industry leading frameworks and open-source software and customize them to provide more value for your solution.
    • We are constantly evolving our own reusable components to add more value to our solutions
    • We offer reduced hourly rates simply because we want to help as much as we can
  • What pricing models do we offer?

When delivering a solution IT for a Cause can offer two different pricing models in which to choose from.  We would be glad to discuss the pros and cons of each model so that you can choose the model that is best for your project and budget.

    Up-front pricing model:

The first model is the typical professional services model where you pay for the services provided on either a fixed rate for the project or on a time and materials basis.  With this model your company will own the entire solution and you have the option to host it with IT for a Cause or with another vendor.

Software as a Service pricing model:
The other model that we offer is a Software as a Service (Saas) model where the upfront cost is reduced to your company.  With this model we charge an initial deposit and the remainder cost of the software is amortized over the length of the contract and charged on a monthly basis.  This model is offered to customers where IT for a Cause is also hosting the solution and therefore the software and hosting fees are rolled into one monthly fee.  One of the main advantages to this plan is that the total cost of ownership is typically lower than the upfront model because IT for a Cause is only charging for the use of the solution and not the entire cost of the solution.
  • How do we ensure quality?

The founder of IT for a Cause has architected and developed many enterprise-class solutions for Fortune 500 clients within the banking, manufacturing, and retail industries.  This experience has taught us many best practices that we use today however given that IT for a Cause is much smaller we can be lean and agile.
